Welcome to the final installment of our blog trilogy, where we explore how you can make a difference by donating your time, talent, and treasure to GPS Education Partners (GPS Ed). In this third blog, we’re focusing on the ‘treasure’ part, and no, it’s not just about money. We’ll delve into various creative ways you can contribute that goes beyond opening your wallet. So, stick around as we discuss different methods to give back and explore opportunities for transforming students’ lives.

First things first, as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students’ success, GPS Ed greatly appreciates donations. We all know that donations enable us to provide better services for our students participating in our paid work-based learning programs. Through these programs, students gain valuable manufacturing experience and set the stage for a future filled with opportunities.

However, donations come in various forms. Here are some creative ways you can support GPS Ed:

Donate a Space: Consider contributing by providing a physical space, just like Generac donated its training center for a GPS Ed event.

Auction Items: You can donate items for GPS Ed’s annual fundraising event in September, such as our Ignite the Transformation 2023 Annual Fundraising Event auction, where we raised over $30,000 through auction donations.

Sponsor a Student: Make a significant impact by sponsoring a student and changing their educational journey.

Community Food Nights: Participate in community food nights, such as those held at Portillo’s and Mod Pizza, where a portion of the proceeds is donated to support GPS Ed’s work-based learning initiatives.

In addition to these ‘treasure’ donations, GPS Ed offers you the chance to contribute your ‘time’ and ‘talent’ in various ways:

Time: Share your experience by writing a positive review on GPS Ed’s Google page or by spreading the word about us. Consider sending a letter or video sharing your post-grad journey and how much you valued your GPS Ed experience. You can also volunteer to speak to a new class starting their own GPS Ed journey.

Talent: If you possess specialized skills, consider guest-speaking on topics like financial literacy, fitness, IT, or creative problem-solving. You can even offer your expertise in fields like blueprint reading, video editing, or graphic design for brochures and fundraising elements.

Your time and talent are invaluable resources for our students and our mission to provide a holistic education experience.

At GPS Ed, we cherish our alumni families and everyone who has been part of our program for over 24 years. Your unwavering support and commitment have opened doors for countless students to explore alternative pathways and discover their true potential. Together, let’s inspire courage for another two decades of students, transforming the high school experience, and changing lives.

If you’re inspired to contribute your time, talent, or treasure, please visit https://gpsed.org/donate or reach out to devteam@gpsed.org to support our work-based learning opportunities.
