GPS Education Partners alumnus Alex Bradford was featured in the company newsletter for Alto-Shaam, where he has been working since 2013.

The company writes that "His dedication in production truly embodies the spirit of Alto-Shaam."

Way to go Alex! Your hard work, great teamwork skills and strong family values are definitely shining through in this story.

How did you get into your position here at Alto-Shaam?

When I started at Alto-Shaam, I worked as a press brake operator for about a year. After that year was up, I informed my supervisor that I wanted to learn more and he sent me downstairs to the tube line. There I learned how to spot weld and work with cabling. Eventually a welding position opened up and I worked as a welder up until about a year and a half ago when I was promoted to a line leader position for the tube line.

What made you want to apply to work at Alto-Shaam?

After being part of the Second Chance Partners for Education program, now known as GPS Education Partners, I knew I wanted to work in the manufacturing industry. Since both my grandmother and mother worked at Alto-Shaam, I wanted to work here as well. I’m the third generation in my family to work here. My uncle and stepdad currently work here, too.

What is your favorite thing about working at Alto-Shaam?

My favorite thing about working at Alto-Shaam is my team and the people I work with. We work really well together. When we get an order through that’s required to be shipped by a certain time, we do a great job of working together so that we can get that unit out in a couple of hours, then move on and still continue production.
